What's a good slow bridal party song? Something that mentions friends but is funny at the same time?

I want to do Vanilla ice but my DJ said that prob wasn't a good choice unless I wanted the wedding party to be staring blankly at each other.. And then running to hide. He suggested a slow song and then after dinner he'll hit Mr. Ice.


What songs can you think of that mention friends?? Funnier the better and I love the 80s!

I really wouldn't suggest You've got a friend in me. Its a nice song but kind of sad. How about Mariah Carey's Anytime you Need a Friend? It's still slow but a little more upbeat.





One of my friend's came in to a song similar to Vanilla Ice.. the just went and sat down, so it was short lived.. I think it was played later in the night as well. They had the couple's toasts, then the first dance, group dance and then all the other traditional dances.. then dinner.





I still say do it the way you want. If you really want Vanilla Ice, go with that.. if not (and you said 80s) look at some New Kids on the Block or some old school Madonna.
Reply:How about "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls? It's sort of a nice message for a wedding- "If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends, men can't last forever, but friendship never ends." That is a very funny song that also is a good "girl power" anthem, and tell your DJ that if he doesn't play what YOU want to hear at your own wedding, you'll have no problem replacing him with someone who will!!!

Reply:That's What Friends Are For. It is a foursome who does it, one of them is Dionne Warwick. It is slow enough for a group dance, and it is upbeat. Not exactly funny but nice.
